WINNIPEG, Esri Canada User Conference – April 25, 2017 – Esri Canada today recognized Manitoba Government’s Community and Regional Planning Branch with an Award of Excellence in applying geographic information system (GIS) technology to improve assessment parcel data management in the province.To complete an assessment parcel data fabric for incorporated Manitoba outside of the City of Winnipeg, the Branch partnered with local municipalities.

TORONTO – April 20, 2017 – Esri Canada today announced the completion of the Policy Workbench, a comprehensive demonstration app that can help policy makers better understand Pan-Arctic issues. The web mapping app was created for the Open Geospatial Consortium Arctic Spatial Data Pilot Project (Arctic SDP), an initiative by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) and Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) designed to demonstrate the value of enhanced spatial data sharing among organizations.

QUÉBEC CITY, Esri Canada User Conference – April 19, 2017 – In November 2016, the Ville de Gatineau Police Department (SPVG) unveiled a new web tool for raising public awareness of local crime. The SPVG’s crime portal, an interactive map showing where incidents have incurred, enables residents to monitor criminal activity throughout the municipality.

TORONTO –December 15, 2016 – Esri Canada congratulates Maricopa County for receiving the Arizona Association of Counties’ 2016 Summit Award, which recognizes county programs that deliver positive impact through creative innovation. The County was selected for improving assessment workflows using Assessment Analyst, Esri Canada’s desktop property review solution that increases the speed and accuracy of mass appraisals.

TORONTO – December 9, 2016 – Esri Canada congratulates students from McMaster University and Carleton University for placing among the winners in Esri’s first Global Content Challenge. The international competition searched for projects that made the best use of the Esri Story Map Journal app and Living Atlas of the World content to tell compelling scientific stories.

REGINA, Esri Canada User Conference – November 15, 2016 – Esri Canada today recognized the Government of Saskatchewan with an Award of Excellence for its outstanding use of geographic information system (GIS) technology. The Government leveraged GIS for the Saskatchewan Enterprise Geo Database project, a spatial data warehouse that consolidates more than 350 datasets from various government archives and makes the information widely available.

VANCOUVER, Esri Canada User Conference – November 2, 2016 – For many years, the City of Coquitlam developed multi-purpose maps with the goal of serving several user groups with the same map. The City recently moved away from this one-map-fits-all approach and developed a suite of focused public works apps that are significantly improving the efficiency and productivity of City staff, both in the field and office.

OTTAWA, Esri Canada User Conference – October 20, 2016 – Esri Canada today recognized Operation INTERSECT with an Award of Excellence for its outstanding use of geographic information system (GIS) technology. Operation INTERSECT is a collaboration among 28 agencies in the National Capital Region to enhance emergency management and preparedness in the region. It is co-chaired by the Ottawa Police Service, the RCMP and Ville de Gatineau’s Office of Emergency Management.
