Preparing for the Examination

While the skills and knowledge acquired on the job provide a base level of preparation for the certification exam, expert-led training courses are highly recommended. Instructors use their numerous years of experience to ensure that you receive authoritative information on the successes and challenges of applying course concepts to real-world situations. Esri e-Learning courses with sample questions for many certifications are also available.

Taking the Examination

Esri Technical Certification examinations are offered in English at more than 50 testing locations across Canada through Pearson VUE. The computer-based exams consist of 90–95 multiple-choice questions and take approximately 2 hours to complete.

Five days after taking an exam, you will be notified via e-mail that your results are available. If you don't pass, you may re-take the exam 14 days after the first attempt. If you're unsuccessful in the second attempt, you must wait 90 days before taking the exam a third time.

After receiving certification, you’ll gain access to the My Certification home page where you can download your certificate, send a validation of the certification to your employers and access a host of other resources.  Even if you weren't successful in your first attempt, the My Certification home page provides tools to help you track and manage your progress.
